Bay Area Recovery K-9s (B.A.R.K.) is comprised of K-9 units in Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana and California to be used as a Law Enforcement resource to assist in the search for human remains. For a full list of members to contact for searches in a given area see Search Emergencies page.
B.A.R.K. has over 30 combined years of search & recovery experience and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to respond to Local, State and Federal Law Enforcement requests. There is no charge for our services. All deployable K-9 teams are certified by the National Narcotic Detector Dog Association (NNDDA) or the National Association of Police Work Dogs Association (NAPWDA). Our K-9s are trained to detect all stages of human decomposition from the recently deceased to historical graves, scattered bones, items contaminated with human fluids, victims of fire and disaster and drowning victims to name a few. Deployments of our operational K-9s may be viewed on the (Search Summaries page). Our team deploys discreetly and will refer all media questions regarding the search to the LE agency in charge. All K-9 handlers are self sufficient in the field.

B.A.R.K. members are volunteers and are not paid for their services, or for the training and support of their dogs. Our members also purchase their own equipment to enable themselves to be self sufficient in all areas of search operations from urban, rural to wilderness.
