January 7

K9s were deployed to Marco Island, Florida to assist the Collier County Sheriff’s Office and the Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission in the search for the body of a missing boater, James Molter.  K9s indicated on the location of Molter’s body and he was recovery ~24 hours later in the area of the indications.  BARK expresses our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of James Molter.  http://www.marconews.com/news/2007/jan/09/boating_accident_victims_body_found/

January 10 & 11

K9s were deployed to Collier County, Florida to assist the Collier County Sheriff’s Office in the search for a possible missing pre-term fetus.  Both urban and wildlife settings were searched over the course of two days.

March 27th & 31st & April 1:

K-9s were deployed to Fort Myers, FL to assist the Fort Myers PD in the search for Skeletal Remains.  K-9 Teams from Osceola K9 SAR assisted B.A.R.K. in this search.

2006

February 22nd:

Members of BARK were deployed to Melbourne, FL to assist in the search of a LEO who was murdered 20 years ago.

February 23rd:

Members of BARK were deployed to Vero Beach, FL to assist in the search of a man who has been missing for 3 years.

March 31st & April 1st:

K-9s were deployed to Ocilla, Georgia to assist the GBI and local LE in the search for Tara Grinstead.

April 12th & 13th

K-9s were deployed to the Bull Creek Wildlife Management Area near Melbourne, FL to assist the FDLE and local LE in the search for a law enforcement officer who was murdered 20 years earlier.

July 8th

K-9s were deployed to a fertilizer plant in Groveland, FL to assist the Ocoee PD and the FDLE in the search for a man who had been missing for 2 months.

August 5th

August 11 – 14

K-9s were deployed to Melbourne Beach, FL to assist the FWC and the University of Central Florida in the search and recovery of Boyd Lyon. Boyd had gone missing after diving into the ocean to tag a sea turtle for research purposes. K-9s indicated on the location of Boyd’s body and he was recovered ~36 hours later in the same area as the K-9 indications. BARK would like to express our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Boyd Lyon.

April 24th:

May 14th – 15th:

Members of BARK were deployed to Polk County, FL to assist in the search for a hunter who had been missing for 6 months. BARK K-9s searched & cleared 25 acres. Areas searched included forested, open field, structures, and swamp.

May:

Members of BARK were deployed to Panama where they spent nine days searching Panama city, David,
Chiriqui, and Coiba Island an active penal colony. We were there searching for the bodies of political prisoners. Several recoveries have been made in areas where the dogs alerted.

June 6th:

Members of BARK were deployed to Lee County, FL to assist in the search for forensic evidence related to the investigation of the beating and murder of a man from a year ago. BARK K-9s searched one acre. Areas searched included open field and structures.

June 25th:

Members of BARK were deployed to Polk County, FL to assist in the search for a woman who was suspected to have been murdered in 1992. Areas searched included open field and landfill.

July 10th – 11th:

Members of BARK were deployed to Marion County, FL to assist in the search for a man who had been missing for 8 months. Areas searched included forested, open field, swamp, and water bodies.

July 19th:

Members of BARK were deployed to Duval County, FL to assist in the search for a body to match a skull that had been found on the roadside. Areas searched included forested, open field, and swamp.

November 29th:

Members of BARK were deployed to Polk County, FL to assist in the search for a missing hunter who had been missing for 5 days. BARK K-9s searched & cleared hundreds of acres. Areas searched included forested, open field, and swamp.

November 2004:

Members of BARK were deployed to Monticello, Florida
Two recoveries were made in a double homicide. A man had killed both his girlfriend and her best friend and buried them in a wooded area behind his mother's home.

December 8th:

Members of BARK were deployed to Highlands County, FL to assist in the search for a body to match a skull that had been found by kids playing near a lake. BARK K-9s searched five acres and recovered the body. Areas searched included forested, open field, and shoreline.

2003

November 1st:

Members of BARK were deployed to Clay County, FL to assist in the search for a woman who was suspected to have been murdered. Areas searched included forested, open field, and water bodies.

November 23rd:

Members of BARK were deployed to Hardee County, FL to assist in the search for a woman who was suspected to have been murdered. Areas searched included forested, open field, swamp, and water bodies.

2001

November:

Members of BARK were deployed to Louisville, Georgia
Historical find--located grave of Howell Cobb Sr. from 1815. Mr. Cobb was the father of a former Brigadier General from the Civil War and a former Georgia Governor.

2002

November:

Zamora, Ecuador - Members of BARK responded to a callout for a missing student in the Amazon rainforest. We spent nine days searching but were unable to locate student.
